الحمد لله الذي جعل العلم النافع طريقاً موصلاً لرضاه، وصراطاً يتبعه من أراد هداه، ويحيد عنه من ضل واتبع هواه،

It is important and compulsory to seek knowledge because we need knowledge to practice Islam in the right manner. Many of these things are obligatory upon us (i.e Oneness of Allah, Nullifiers of faith, Salah, Zakat, Sawm, etc) and it is only right that we have the knowledge to carry it out accordingly and for it to be accepted.

Anas ibn Malik ( May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

[Sunan Ibn Mājah]

According to this hadith, it is obligatory upon every Muslim to seek knowledge. One should at least know the basics of the religion, the right from wrong, the correct way to carry out acts of worship and implement and also teach them. This kind of knowledge is not excusable to anyone because religion is built on it.

It is not proper for a Muslim to be vast in knowledge of worldly life ( i.e physics, math, biology, tech etc) but know little to nothing about his religion.

In Surah Ar-Rum verse 7, Allah says:

يَعْلَمُونَ ظَـٰهِرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ

“They know only the outside appearance of the life of the world (i.e. the matters of their livelihood, like irrigating or sowing or reaping, etc.), and they are heedless of the Hereafter.

As a member of Maktab Taleem Institution, I have observed that while essential teachings on Taharah and Salah were introduced early in our syllabus, there was a lack of consistent practical reinforcement as students advanced in their studies. This has resulted in a significant gap in their understanding of these fundamental aspects of our Deen. To address this concern, we have developed a new kitaab designed to provide consistent and practical repetition of these teachings throughout the Maktab years. Insha'Allah, this will greatly enhance our students' comprehension and practice.

This kitaab also includes essential duas for each Maktab class to memorize, along with a compilation of 100 Sunnahs of our beloved Prophet (SAW) for daily implementation in a Muslim's life.

Alhamdulillah, it is indeed a tremendous blessing to have Makaatib and Madaaris where our younger generation can learn and internalise the teachings of Islam. These institutions are vital for preserving our faith and passing it on to future generations. It is important to continuously express our gratitude (Shukr) for this ni'mah and to work diligently towards maintaining a well-organised and effective educational system. By ensuring a comprehensive and thoughtfully designed syllabus, we can make the most of our students' time and ensure they develop a profound and thorough understanding of Deen e Islam.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Molana Ismail Dadibhai and Hafiz Farooq Shaik at Madrasa Talimuddin, Masjid e Umar Dewsbury, our publisher Yunus Bhai at Idara Ishaat, and everyone who contributed to the compilation of this book.

May Almighty Allah accept this humble effort to serve His Deen and grant this book widespread acceptance. Ameen.
